I’ve just returned from an incredible week in Jamaica, where I had the chance to visit nine different properties across the island. Each resort offered something unique, and I experienced a variety of atmospheres, from family-friendly settings to vibrant, adults-only escapes.
We were treated to hosted lunches and dinners almost every day, giving us a true taste of Jamaican hospitality.
What really stood out to me was that each hotel offered so much on-site, you could spend your entire holiday without ever needing to leave. From daily activities to entertainment teams hosting pool parties and water sports, there’s always something happening. I even tried paddleboarding at one of the resorts (Royal)—fun for the first ten minutes, but it got a bit tricky with boats sharing the same area!
In the evenings, the entertainment was just as impressive. There were shows, themed nights, bingo, sing-alongs, and even nightclubs—plenty to keep you entertained.
As someone with a gluten intolerance, I was thrilled by how accommodating the resorts were. I didn’t run into any issues, and the staff were always attentive to my needs.
The newly renovated rooms were absolutely stunning. The beds were incredibly comfy, and I loved the fresh, modern feel of the updated properties.
I noticed a younger crowd at the Ochi, Dunn’s, and Negril resorts, with more groups rather than just couples. Meanwhile, the Beaches properties offered so much for families. With kids' clubs catering to ages 0-17, it’s an ideal destination for families. The rooms were huge, and the sofa beds were actually trundle beds. While the focus was on family fun, there were plenty of options for adults too, including spas, nightclubs, and piano lounges.
The all-inclusive package was fantastic—you could genuinely spend your holiday without spending a penny. I had the chance to experience all three levels of service: butler service at the Plantation (where they give you a phone to text for any requests, as long as they’re legal!), luxury service at the Caribbean (which was great, though it was tricky to get reservations at some of the restaurants), and club level at South Coast.
Of the three, club level was my favourite. It gave you access to a club lounge, help with reservations, and 24-hour butler access, although not on a one-to-one basis.
Every resort promoted the GINA app, which offers live Q&A for guests, making it even easier to get quick answers to your questions.
